About this position

Postdoctoral Research Associate at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, United States.

The Skinner Lab is seeking an enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to start in February 2026. The project focuses on chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, metabolomics, proteomics, protein chemistry, mass spectrometry, and chromatography, with an emphasis on uncovering cellular metabolic regulation using advanced experimental and analytical methods.

The postdoc will conduct basic or applied research, assist with interpretation and publication of results, contribute to grants, help maintain the laboratory, and may supervise supporting research staff. The appointment is for two years and may be extended for 1-2 additional years depending on funding and progress.

Eligibility highlights: applicants must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, or a closely related field. Preferred experience includes Western blots, qPCR/RNAseq, CRISPR gene editing, DNA manipulation, metabolomics sample preparation and LC/MS or GC/MS measurement, protein biophysical analysis, and ideally native/intact mass spectrometry. Strong communication, organization, time management, computer, and data analysis skills are valued.

How to apply: submit a cover letter, CV with publication list, Ph.D. completion date, and contact information for three references. Review of applications begins immediately.

Funding: this is a paid postdoctoral role with an expected hiring range of $60,315.00 - $85,192.50 plus benefits.
