About this position
Washington University in St. Louis is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in developmental biology with a strong emphasis on human neurodevelopment, stem cell biology, genomics, and epigenetics.
The Kroll laboratory studies transcriptional and epigenetic regulatory networks that shape the human cerebral cortex and how disruption of these programs contributes to neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, epilepsy, and brain overgrowth syndromes. The project uses human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) differentiation, patient-derived iPSCs, patterned brain organoids, assembloids, CUT&RUN/CUT&Tag, RNA-seq, high-content imaging, and high-density multi-electrode array (HD-MEA) functional assays.
Successful candidates will design and perform experiments in 2-D and 3-D culture systems, analyze multi-omics datasets using R/RStudio-based workflows, present findings at seminars and conferences, and contribute to manuscripts and grant preparation. The role also includes mentoring trainees and maintaining rigorous research and biosafety standards.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal/doctoral degree. Preferred preparation includes neuroscience, molecular biology, stem cell biology, cellular neurobiology, genomics, or related fields, plus experience with hPSC models, organoids, chromatin profiling, imaging, and data integration. The position is on campus at Washington University Medical Campus in St. Louis, Missouri, United States.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and three references through the Workday application portal. Salary is commensurate with experience. The posting does not list a deadline.
