About this position
This postdoctoral position is based in Texas A&M AgriLife Research and the Department of Ecology & Conservation Biology, with the appointee stationed at the USDA ARS OCPARC lab in El Reno, Oklahoma. The project is collaborative and involves work with ARS and Texas A&M University scientists in a research environment focused on agriculture, ecology, and life sciences across the Texas A&M University System.
The postdoc will contribute to research on regenerative conservation practices aimed at promoting soil health and agricultural sustainability in farmland and rangeland of the southern Great Plains. The role combines synthesis and applied field research: developing science syntheses, conducting field studies in grazed tallgrass prairie pastures that are periodically burned, and in pastures planted with annual cool- and warm-season forages. The appointee will also help identify knowledge gaps, publish research findings, and create factsheets and other outreach materials based on the work.
The position includes stakeholder engagement and coordination with state and local NRCS staff so that research questions reflect stakeholder needs and findings are translated into outreach products. The work spans ecology, rangeland systems, grazing and vegetation studies, spatial and statistical analysis, and science communication within a multi-institutional applied research setting.
