About this position
Texas A&M AgriLife Research is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Rangeland, Wildlife & Fisheries Management. The appointment is based within Texas A&M University System research activity and will be stationed at the USDA ARS OCPARC lab in El Reno, Oklahoma, where the postdoc will work alongside ARS and Texas A&M University scientists.
The project centers on regenerative conservation practices in the southern Great Plains, with emphasis on practices credited with promoting soil health and agricultural sustainability in farmland and rangeland systems. The successful candidate will contribute to both synthesis and applied field research, combining literature-based review and synthesis with new research designed to address identified knowledge gaps.
Research activities include studying grazed tallgrass prairie pastures that are periodically burned, as well as pastures planted with annual cool- and warm-season forages. The role also includes coordinating with state and local NRCS staff so that the research aligns with stakeholder needs, and producing factsheets and other outreach materials based on the project’s synthesis and findings. The postdoc will be expected to publish research results and engage stakeholders through outreach activities.
This is a collaborative research environment connecting AgriLife Research, USDA ARS, and Texas A&M scientists, with a clear blend of field ecology, synthesis work, and translational outreach relevant to rangeland management and conservation.
