About this position
This postdoctoral research associate appointment at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School and Adam C. Sinn ’00 Department of Finance centers on empirical research in finance and economics using restricted-use U.S. Census Bureau firm microdata under approved Census Project TX03195.
The project examines how federal investments in research and development shape firm innovation, performance, and broader economic outcomes. The successful researcher will help construct and revise firm-level panels linking federal contract R&D to self-funded R&D, patenting, profitability, market share, and stock returns, and will implement empirical designs that separate direct effects from spillovers.
Working with Dr. Andrew Fieldhouse and Dr. Adam Kolasinski, the postdoctoral researcher will contribute to a publication-oriented research environment aimed at top finance and economics journals. The role includes running econometric analyses in the Texas Federal Statistical Research Data Center on the Texas A&M campus, maintaining replicable code and detailed data records, preparing disclosure-avoidance submissions, responding to review feedback, and supporting dissemination through papers, conferences, and seminars.
The appointment is embedded in a research-active department within a large business school environment, with opportunities to collaborate closely with faculty and contribute to a pipeline of scholarly work on innovation, corporate finance, public economics, and macroeconomics.
