About this position
Northeastern University’s Gyori Lab for Computational Biomedicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance computational methods that accelerate scientific discovery by combining artificial intelligence with human expertise.
The research will focus on knowledge-grounded artificial intelligence, knowledge graphs, large language models and retrieval-augmented generation, systems and mathematical modeling of biological or complex systems, natural language processing, machine learning, and data harmonization and integration. These methods will be applied to biomedicine and related domains, including biomedical knowledge integration and AI-assisted systems modeling.
The postdoctoral researcher will conduct original research, implement methods as reusable scientific software, and benchmark computational approaches using real-world applications. The role also includes publishing findings, presenting results, contributing to grant proposals, and collaborating with graduate and undergraduate students, scientific software developers, academic collaborators, and program partners.
The Gyori Lab develops open-source software and services and works across biomedical knowledge integration, global health, artificial intelligence-assisted systems modeling, and causal analysis. The position offers an interdisciplinary research environment within Northeastern University’s Khoury College of Computer Sciences, whose mission is “CS for Everyone.” The researcher will also have opportunities to mentor junior researchers and contribute to reproducible scientific software development.
