About this position
The Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture (IHA) at Texas A&M University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Precision Nutrition with a strong emphasis on metabolism–immunity interactions. The project is centered on understanding how diet influences health outcomes by integrating genetic, physiological, environmental, and behavioral factors that shape individual variability and subgroup differences.
The postdoctoral researcher will investigate mechanistic links between metabolic regulation, immunometabolism, inflammation, and nutrient sensing and signaling pathways. The work focuses on chronic conditions including obesity, diabetes, liver disease, and aging-related disorders, using cutting-edge preclinical models to address human-relevant questions in nutrition and disease biology.
In this role, the researcher will design and run mechanistic studies, analyze complex datasets, and combine molecular, cellular, and physiological approaches to study diet–immune–metabolic interactions. The position also involves manuscript preparation, participation in collaborative multidisciplinary research, grant-writing contributions, and mentoring of graduate and undergraduate trainees as appropriate.
The position is housed within the Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture at Texas A&M University in College Station, within Texas A&M AgriLife Research. The environment is explicitly interdisciplinary, connecting nutrition, metabolism, immunology, and translational research aimed at improving health through agriculture and life sciences.
