About this position
Washington University School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in Radiology for the Multimodal Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory and Cao Lab in St. Louis, Missouri, United States.
The researcher will investigate the neural and computational mechanisms underlying visual perception and social cognition. Projects may involve advanced 3T and 7T fMRI, human intracranial electrophysiology, behavioral experimentation, computational modeling, and multimodal analysis of neuroimaging, electrophysiological, and behavioral data.
Working within the Neuroimaging Labs Research Center and Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, the postdoctoral associate will design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data, prepare manuscripts and presentations, contribute to funding applications, maintain reproducible research records, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor students or research staff as appropriate. The role offers individualized faculty mentorship and the opportunity to develop an independent scientific profile.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree. Preferred qualifications include training in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field; experience with fMRI or electrophysiology and neuroimaging, neural, behavioral, or computational data; Python or MATLAB programming; strong research productivity and communication skills; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with multimodal integration, AI-assisted scientific workflows, and reproducible computational pipelines is advantageous.
