About this position
Postdoctoral Research Fellow and PhD opportunity in Computational Physics at Tampere University, Finland.
The BioInterfaces Group is recruiting for the SCRAMBLE project, funded by the Research Council of Finland. The project focuses on high-throughput molecular dynamics simulations and close collaboration with experimental partners to study scramblases, membrane proteins that facilitate lipid movement across biological membranes.
The postdoctoral position is designed for a researcher who can take a leading role in day-to-day research, supervise a doctoral researcher, and help shape the scientific direction of the project. The group also highlights opportunities to build collaborations, develop scientific networks in Finland and abroad, and receive support for future independent funding applications.
Relevant research areas and skills: coarse-grained and/or all-atom molecular dynamics, high-throughput simulation approaches, machine learning for molecular biophysics, protein design and engineering, enhanced sampling, and biased simulation techniques.
Location: Tampere, Finland. The group describes itself as young and growing, with around 10 people and access to extensive high-performance computing resources.
Contract and funding: 2-year postdoctoral position with potential extensions. Initial salary is approximately €4,000/month (~€3,000 net).
