About this position
Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter (Exeter / Cornwall, hybrid) in the Centre for Net Positive Health and Climate Solutions (Net+ Centre).
This UKRI-funded role sits at the intersection of public health, nutrition, environmental science, and climate change. The centre’s work focuses on environmental-social-health inequalities and on building research capacity around resilient green and blue infrastructure, resilient urban environments, and resilient food systems.
The successful candidate will be based in the Faculty of Environment, Science, and Economy and work closely with colleagues in the University of Exeter Medical School, with wider collaboration across the university and partner organisations. The post specifically seeks a mixed-methods researcher with experience in resilient food systems and/or sustainable nutrition, plus strong evidence synthesis skills and the ability to engage public and stakeholder audiences.
Core activities include a review of evidence on the impact of climate change on nutrition in the UK, potentially using peer-reviewed literature, media analysis, and/or key informant interviews. The role also contributes to capacity building, engagement, outreach, leadership academy meetings, PhD summer schools, and STEM engagement activities.
Eligibility: applicants should hold a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in food systems or sustainable nutrition research. Experience in developing research projects and proposals, identifying funding opportunities, collaborating across disciplines, producing academic and policy outputs, and communicating with non-academic audiences is important.
Funding and terms: the post is UKRI-funded, full-time, fixed-term from 01/01/2027 to 30/09/2029, with salary from £44,352 (Grade F), depending on experience. Part-time or job-sharing may be considered, and hybrid working is available.
Deadline: 8 November 2026.
