About this position

Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Uppaluri Lab

The Uppaluri Lab in the Department of Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a creative, collegial, and motivated postdoctoral research fellow. The NIH-funded project will investigate mechanisms of resistance to anti-PD-1 immunotherapy and targeted therapy in head and neck cancers through basic and translational approaches.

Research opportunities include cancer genome discovery, CRISPR screening, tumor microenvironment and T-cell biology, single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial proteomics and transcriptomics, carcinogen-induced oral cancer models, oncogene-inducible disease models, and analysis of patient samples from clinical trials. The fellow will work collaboratively with cancer biologists, clinicians, and computational biologists.

Responsibilities include designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo experiments, processing patient-derived tissues, developing ex vivo human immune models, analyzing data, maintaining records, presenting findings, writing research articles, and contributing to funding applications and laboratory operations.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in molecular biology, immunology, or an equivalent discipline. Experience with cell culture, mouse disease modeling, flow cytometry, molecular biology, immunologic assays, and peer-reviewed publication is expected; immunology, bioinformatics, and human specimen analysis experience are desirable. Excellent English communication skills are required.

The position is based in Boston, United States, and offers a listed annual salary of $72,000–$76,385. The application deadline is December 29, 2026.
