About this position
The European Institute of Japanese Studies (EIJS) at the Stockholm School of Economics is seeking a postdoctoral researcher or research fellow for Japan-related research.
The position welcomes work in International Business, economic geography, business and management, business strategy, and the political economy of Japan. Potential projects may examine the internationalization of services, including how the knowledge and service economy reshapes production networks, regional economic growth, trade, and investment across Asia and global markets.
Another research direction concerns the green economy transition, sustainability in macroeconomic policy and business models, the Japan–EU Green Alliance, digitalization, service value content, and foreign direct investment in sectors connected to the green transition. Applicants may also explore strategic partnership initiatives, including the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement and Strategic Partnership Agreement, and their implications for an increasingly multipolar global political economy.
The institute will also consider other relevant research interests and proposals. The research environment is based at the European Institute of Japanese Studies, with English as the working language and a strong focus on Japan and Europe–Asia economic and political relations.
