The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Department of Infection Biology, working in the laboratory of Professor Serge Mostowy. This position focuses on laboratory-based research in microbiology and molecular biology, specifically investigating the role of D-arabinanases in mycobacterial physiology and pathogenicity. The successful candidate will engage in multidisciplinary research involving biochemical, molecular, genetic, and cell biological analysis, contributing to the understanding of mycobacterial interactions with other bacteria and host cells.

The project is part of a Wellcome Trust-funded programme grant and offers access to state-of-the-art facilities and strong collaborative networks, including partnerships in disease-endemic countries. The Department of Infection Biology at LSHTM is renowned for its excellence in pathogen molecular biology, immunology, and infection research, providing a supportive and inclusive environment for scientific advancement.

Applicants should hold a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant field such as microbiology or molecular biology. The role is based at the main Keppel Street building in London.
