About this position
The University of Oxford is recruiting a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Gupta Lab in the Department of Paediatrics at the Institute of Development and Regenerative Medicine on the Old Road Campus.
The project focuses on bioconjugate chemistry and next-generation delivery platforms for nucleic acid therapeutics. The researcher will work at the interface of chemistry, molecular biology, and translational medicine to design and synthesise chemical conjugates for nucleic acid delivery. Research activities include linker chemistry, oligonucleotide modification, and bioconjugation to peptides, lipids, polymers, antibodies, or extracellular vesicles.
The postholder will evaluate the stability, specificity, and delivery efficacy of conjugates through in vitro and in vivo studies, collaborating with chemists, molecular biologists, and clinicians. The role is based in Oxford, United Kingdom, within the University of Oxford's Medical Sciences Division and Department of Paediatrics.
Applicants must hold a PhD and demonstrate organic chemistry and molecular biology expertise. Strong experimental design, molecular biology, data analysis, communication, and research-environment skills are expected. Applications must include a CV and supporting statement with a cover letter addressing the selection criteria.
The appointment is full-time and fixed-term for one year initially, with possible extension depending on external funding. The role may be eligible for a Global Talent visa. Applications must be submitted online by 12:00 midday on 13 November 2026.
