About this position
Delft University of Technology is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Feld Group at QuTech in Delft, Netherlands. The project focuses on quantum error correction, quantum compilation, GPU acceleration, high-performance computing, and tightly integrated quantum-classical systems.
The researcher may contribute to low-latency GPU integration with quantum-control hardware; GPU-accelerated decoding algorithms for quantum error correction; hardware-aware quantum software; compilation, mapping, routing, and optimization for emerging quantum architectures; and reliable, fault-tolerant quantum computing, including hardware-software co-design and ASIC-based decoding. The work involves collaborations across QuTech, TU Delft, and industrial partners such as Qblox.
Applicants must hold a PhD in computer science, physics, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or a related discipline by the start date. Experience with GPU programming and high-performance computing, such as CUDA, parallel computing, performance optimization, or systems software engineering, is required. Quantum-computing experience is beneficial, while extensive prior expertise in quantum error correction is not essential. Strong communication, collaboration, curiosity, and a proactive approach are expected.
The position is a 24-month paid appointment, potentially extendable, at 38–40 hours per week. The salary range is €3,706–€5,760, with Dutch employment benefits, pension, leave, training, and other support. Applications require a CV and motivational letter and must be submitted by 30 November 2026 through the official TU Delft application portal.
