About this position

The National University of Singapore’s Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), hosted at the Kent Ridge Campus in Singapore, is seeking a Research Associate specializing in quantum computing hardware.

The researcher will help develop and commission a next-generation 50+ qubit superconducting quantum computer, building on an established 20-qubit platform. Responsibilities include optimizing quantum processor performance, improving gate fidelities and algorithm performance, integrating processors with control and readout infrastructure, developing calibration and error-mitigation protocols, and collaborating with software and applications teams to support external users.

Applicants should hold a master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field focused on quantum computing hardware. Strong experimental experience in superconducting quantum computing, including qubit fabrication, characterization, and control, is required. Experience with cryogenic systems, microwave engineering, quantum control electronics, processor optimization, and quantum hardware projects is also expected. Preferred qualifications include experience beyond 20 qubits, quantum error correction, fault-tolerant computing, cloud quantum platforms, and programming in Python or MATLAB.

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to Singapore’s quantum computing ecosystem, work with state-of-the-art facilities, and participate in a nationally significant quantum technology initiative. No application deadline or compensation details are provided in the posting.

Funding details
