About this position
IMT Atlantique is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for the STRIKEER project, a collaborative effort aimed at improving the robustness of GNSS receivers against jamming and spoofing attacks. The project sits within the school’s MEE (Mathematical and Electrical Engineering) department, in a research environment focused on AI, signal processing, and hardware design.
The position is centered on turning hybrid AI/DSP processing algorithms into FPGA-ready implementations. The successful researcher will work on a real-time hybrid AI/DSP architecture targeting a Zynq UltraScale+ FPGA, with attention to SWaP constraints for embedded applications on drones and launchers. The role also includes on-target validation using FPGA-In-the-Loop methods, integrating a complete hybrid CRPA processing chain, and producing technical documentation, traceability materials, and scientific outputs.
This postdoctoral project is carried out in collaboration with the project team, ARKANE, and ArianeGroup, linking academic research with industrial application in aerospace and defense. The position is based at IMT Atlantique in Brest/Plouzané, France.

What's required
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent, obtained less than 3 years ago, in digital electronics, embedded systems, or algorithm-architecture matching. Required skills include FPGA digital design (VHDL/Verilog and/or HLS), use of AMD/Xilinx tools (Vivado, Vitis), fixed-point arithmetic, experience with quantized neural networks on FPGA (e.g. Brevitas, FINN, hls4ml), digital signal processing, GNSS/CRPA systems, and Zynq UltraScale+ SoC platforms with FPGA-in-the-loop validation. Candidates should demonstrate scientific rigor, organization, strong autonomy, initiative, teamwork in multidisciplinary settings, and excellent written and oral communication in French and English.
