About this position

Postdoctoral Scholar opening in Transplant Immunology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), within the Pathology Immunogenetics Center / David Geffen School of Medicine. The lab of Dr. Elaine F. Reed is seeking a full-time postdoctoral researcher to join a highly collaborative environment focused on mechanisms of alloimmune responses, tolerance induction, and biomarkers of rejection and tolerance in transplantation.

The research is centered on systems immunology and transplant pathology, using multiparameter immunophenotyping, transcriptomics, proteomics, leukocyte functional assays, statistical and computational biology, and novel single-cell and spatial omics approaches. The goal is to define cellular and humoral immunity to transplanted organs and to identify biomarkers that can improve diagnostic precision and treatment strategies in transplant immunology.

Applicants should have a recent PhD and/or MD/PhD (within the past 2 years) and a strong background in immunology, molecular biology, and/or cellular biology. Desired technical experience includes flow cytometry, immune functional assays, ELISA, primary human cell purification and culture, and single-cell sequencing/RNA-seq. Bioinformatics and computational skills are highly desirable, especially experience with single-cell and spatial omics datasets. Strong communication skills, independence, creativity, and teamwork are emphasized.

Funding is a salaried postdoctoral position with a stated range of $69,073–$82,836 depending on experience. The post is located in Los Angeles, California, United States. Applications are reviewed starting 2026-09-10, with a final deadline of 2027-06-29.

To apply, email Dr. Elaine F. Reed with a CV, cover letter, statement of research, three references, and the reference check authorization release form. The direct application page is provided by UCLA Recruit.
