About this position
Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, invites applications for a two-year, full-time postdoctoral position in yeast synthetic biology within the Division of Systems and Synthetic Biology.
The project develops yeast strains for synthetic microbial consortia, focusing on sustainable biomanufacturing and food production. Research includes engineering yeast metabolism and cell–cell interactions, tailored food oils from sugars supplied by cyanobacteria, biosensors, CRISPR-based strain libraries, GoldenGate or Gibson cloning, and high-throughput screening. Related applications include engineered living materials and 3D-printed tissues.
Applicants must hold a doctorate in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field by the employment decision, communicate effectively in English, and have experience genetically engineering microorganisms, preferably yeast. Experience with flow cytometry, FACS, sequencing analysis, fermentation, HPLC, or GC-MS is advantageous. Some teaching and supervision of master's or PhD students may be included.
