About this position
The Ohio State University is recruiting a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar in Biomedical Informatics at the Columbus Campus in the United States. The position is based in the laboratory of Dr. Dongjun Chung within the Department of Biomedical Informatics, School of Biomedical Sciences.
The postdoctoral researcher will develop statistical and computational approaches for the design and analysis of spatial multi-omics experiments. Current projects include identifying and localizing senescent cells in aging and diseased lungs using single-cell and spatial omics data, as well as improving sequencing- and imaging-based spatial transcriptomics and spatial proteomics experiments.
Responsibilities include leading analyses of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, developing computational methods, collaborating with teams in immunology, genomics, oncology, AI and machine learning, and disseminating results through publications and conference presentations. The researcher will have access to computational infrastructure, multi-omics datasets, and translational collaborations through OSU Biomedical Informatics, the Pelotonia Institute for Oncology and Immunology, and the OSUCCC-James.
Applicants should hold a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, data science, bioinformatics, or a related discipline. Background or strong interest in bioinformatics, cancer genomics, or statistical genetics is desired, while experience with AI/ML, high-dimensional data analysis, or multi-omics integration is highly valued. The appointment is fixed-term, with 40 scheduled hours per week. Salary and application deadline details are not provided in the posting. Applications should be submitted through the Ohio State Workday careers portal.
