About this position
The Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar in the NICHD-funded T32 training program, “From Biological to Social Processes: Interdisciplinary Training in Life Course Research.” The position is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States.
The program trains postdoctoral scholars to work across disciplinary boundaries and develop creative, integrative approaches to understanding the factors that influence health and health disparities across the life course. Research may span population science, social inequalities, biological processes, human health and wellbeing, fertility, mortality, migration, environment, longitudinal surveys, and biological measurement in social surveys.
Trainees receive interdisciplinary mentorship and training and identify a co-preceptor team consisting of a mentor from their home discipline and another faculty mentor representing an interdisciplinary area. The initial appointment is for one year, with a preferred start date of January 11, 2027, negotiable; a second year may be possible subject to continued funding.
