About this position
The Ohio State University is recruiting a Post Doctoral Scholar in Pathology within the Department of Medicine | Pathology in the United States. This postdoctoral opening focuses on the immunopathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), lupus nephritis, and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), with an emphasis on immune cell function, RNA regulatory mechanisms, and disease-driving pathways.
The successful candidate will work on T cells and dendritic cells, using transcriptomic, epigenomic, and spatial omics approaches together with computational and experimental methods. The role includes identifying RNA-mediated pathways, RNA-binding protein mechanisms, and biologically actionable therapeutic targets in autoimmune disease.
Research responsibilities include multi-parameter flow cytometry, intracellular cytokine staining, ELISAs, T cell–dendritic cell co-culture assays, murine autoimmune disease models, and assessment of proteinuria, renal pathology, joint inflammation, autoantibody production, and immune phenotypes. The scholar will also publish papers, present at meetings, mentor trainees, and contribute to grant applications.
Eligibility highlights: Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field; strong immunology background; transcriptomic analysis experience (bulk RNA-seq and/or single-cell RNA-seq); publication record in immunology, RNA biology, genomics, or autoimmune disease; and experience with flow cytometry, immune phenotyping, and FlowJo.
How to apply: Submit your application through the Ohio State Workday portal using the provided job link. Current employees and students should use the internal Workday process. If you need accessibility support, contact [email protected].
