About this position

The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar in Quantum Networking, supported by the Center for Quantum Information Science and Engineering (CQISE) within the Enterprise for Research, Innovation and Knowledge.

The fellow will conduct original, self-directed research in quantum networking and quantum information science and engineering, collaborate on joint projects with faculty mentors, publish research findings, present at national and international conferences and seminars, mentor undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral researchers, and participate in outreach. The role is intentionally interdisciplinary, with co-advising and co-mentoring by faculty from at least two disciplines.

Potential collaborators span mathematics, physics, chemistry, electrical and computer engineering, materials science and engineering, and computer science and engineering. Research may engage fundamental quantum science, the quantum-classical boundary, quantum advantage, and applications of quantum technologies.

Applicants must have a doctorate in a quantum-related field and experience conducting interdisciplinary research, including completed self-directed projects across two or more disciplines. A resume/CV is required, while a cover letter is strongly encouraged. The position is in person at the Columbus Campus and requires residence in central Ohio by the start date.

The target salary is $65,000 per year, with comprehensive university benefits. This fixed-term appointment lasts at least 12 months and may be renewed annually for up to three years, subject to funding and satisfactory performance. Apply through the Ohio State Workday portal.
