About this position

Beiyun Zhou’s lab at the University of Southern California is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar/research associate to join a research program on the cell and molecular biology of the alveolar epithelium.

The project centers on alveolar epithelial cell differentiation and plasticity in the setting of lung injury and fibrosis, with a particular emphasis on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The successful candidate will conduct hypothesis-driven cellular and molecular research and contribute to a broader translational research effort on lung disease.

The role includes independent planning and execution of technical research projects, data analysis and interpretation, and presentation of findings in lab meetings, conferences, and publications. The scholar will also contribute to grant applications, progress reports, and manuscripts, share techniques with other lab members, and act as a liaison with collaborators. The position is embedded in the Keck Medicine of USC research environment, which combines academic medicine, specialized clinical care, and state-of-the-art facilities.
