About this position
At the Epstein Family Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) at the University of Southern California, this postdoctoral scholar will join the Recruitment, Engagement, and Retention (RER) Section, a group focused on multicenter Alzheimer’s disease prevention research and longitudinal cohort studies. The section works with recruitment, screening, biomarker, cognitive, and longitudinal data to understand who is identified, who qualifies for biomarker-based eligibility, who participates, and who remains engaged over time.
The scholar will work with trial-embedded and longitudinal datasets that include recruitment and screening information, blood-based biomarkers, amyloid PET, cognitive measures, participant characteristics, and longitudinal outcomes. The research emphasis is on investigating heterogeneity across screening and participation pathways and examining how cardiometabolic, vascular, social, and other factors relate to cognitive outcomes and participation in Alzheimer’s prevention research.
This role is designed for a scholar who wants to build a research trajectory in Alzheimer’s disease and clinical-trial science while contributing to ongoing funded studies. The postdoctoral scholar will develop scientific questions, lead abstracts and first-author manuscripts, translate statistical outputs into scientific narrative, and participate in multidisciplinary discussions with RER faculty, clinical-trial investigators, and statistical collaborators under established analytic governance. The appointment is based in San Diego, California, within a major research institute supporting national and international Alzheimer’s research programs.
The position reports to Dr. Doris Molina-Henry within the RER Section and offers the opportunity to contribute to peer-reviewed publications and broader research outputs tied to the institute’s prevention-trial portfolio.
