About this position
Postdoctoral Scholar in Translational Cancer Biomarkers and Molecular Assay Development at the University of California, Los Angeles joins Dr. Liying Zhang’s research group in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine.
The lab focuses on innovative, highly collaborative translational research aimed at improving cancer care. The project centers on discovering molecular biomarkers and developing clinically relevant molecular assays, with a particular emphasis on DNA damage response pathways and liquid biopsy. The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to research spanning biomarker discovery, assay development, and clinical validation.
The role is embedded in a multidisciplinary environment and involves close work with the PI and collaborators across basic, clinical, and computational disciplines. The scholar will be expected to design and analyze experiments, curate and interpret genomic and bioinformatic data, present research findings, write manuscripts, contribute to grant applications, mentor trainees, and collaborate with clinicians, pathologists, and bioinformaticians.
The position is well suited to a researcher aiming to build an independent profile while contributing to translational projects that connect laboratory discovery with clinically relevant cancer applications.
