About this position
Waseda University’s Faculty of Human Sciences is recruiting a fixed-term research assistant at the researcher/postdoctoral-equivalent level for research on child health and welfare. The project uses quantitative data to investigate how family and social environments—including parents’ socioeconomic status—relate to children’s health and welfare.
The successful researcher will assist with analyses of databases held by the supervising professor, organize research documents, and compile research findings. Depending on their interests and experience, they may also contribute to the analysis and preparation of academic papers in English or Japanese, with support from the supervising professor.
The work is based in the Department of Health and Welfare Sciences at Waseda University’s Faculty of Human Sciences, with the position located at the Tokorozawa Campus in Saitama. The research environment connects social medicine, public health, social welfare, and sociology through quantitative research on children and their social contexts.
The role is suitable for an early-career researcher with experience in quantitative child-related research and an interest in developing research outputs in an interdisciplinary health and welfare setting.
