About this position
The Mazo-Vargas laboratory in Duke University’s Department of Biology is seeking a part-time Research Associate to support next-generation sequencing projects focused on Lepidoptera developmental genetics and evolution.
The role is centered on sequencing-based research and data workflows. The successful candidate will prepare and evaluate RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and ChIP-seq libraries, carry out quality control and genomic data analysis, maintain clear experimental and computational records, and contribute to interpreting results.
In addition to contributing directly to the lab’s sequencing projects, the Research Associate may help optimize genomic workflows and provide support to undergraduate and graduate researchers in the group.
The position is based at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, within an active biology research environment with strong emphasis on genomics, developmental biology, and evolutionary questions.
