About this position
The Center for Applied Cognitive Science (CACS) at The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a Research Coordinator / Research Associate III to help lead research operations for projects at the intersection of cognitive science, psychology, public health, education, child development, and international development.
This role supports major initiatives including Learning to Innovate (jointly funded by UKRI/ESRC and the National Science Foundation), Cultures of Learning (an NSF AccelNet-funded global network), and ed tech and museum–university–community partnerships. The position is designed for someone who enjoys both rigorous research and the operational side of running a collaborative lab or center.
Responsibilities include building standardized procedures for data collection, coding, and quality control across cross-cultural and community-based studies; cleaning and analyzing data using inferential statistics; training and supervising undergraduate research assistants; and managing timelines, budgets, IRB compliance, and communication with collaborators, funders, and community partners.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of research lab experience with human subjects, strong data science skills in R, Python, SPSS, or Stata, and experience in research administration. A master’s degree, IRB experience, and cross-cultural or international research experience are listed as strong advantages.
