The Center for Applied Cognitive Science (CACS) at The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a Research Coordinator / Research Associate III to help lead research operations for projects at the intersection of cognitive science, psychology, public health, education, child development, and international development . This role supports major initiatives including Learning to Innovate (jointly funded by UKRI/ESRC and the National Science Foundation), Cultures of Learning (an NSF AccelNet-funded global network), and ed tech and museum–university–community partnerships. The position is designed for someone who enjoys both rigorous research and the operational side of running a collaborative lab or center. Responsibilities include building standardized procedures for data collection, coding, and quality control across cross-cultural and community-based studies; cleaning and analyzing data using inferential statistics; training and supervising undergraduate research assistants; and managing timelines, budgets, IRB compliance, and communication with collaborators, funders, and community partners. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of research lab experience with human subjects , strong data science skills in R, Python, SPSS, or Stata , and experience in research administration. A master’s degree , IRB experience , and cross-cultural or international research experience are listed as strong advantages. This is a full-time, in-person role on UT Austin’s main campus, with occasional work at partner sites such as museums and schools.
