The successful candidate will work within the Gnibi College of Indigenous Australian Peoples on the REVIVE project, an international collaboration with Southern Cross University and King’s College London. The project examines how communities respond to climate-related disruption, grief, and loss, and how participatory, co-designed, and arts-based research can support more liveable futures.

Research context: The role is based at the Lismore campus and involves work across three case study locations: Lismore (Australia), Durban (South Africa), and Norfolk (UK). The fellow will design and deliver defined components of the research program, coordinate ethics and governance approvals, manage milestones, and contribute high-quality research outputs and community-facing materials.

Eligibility and requirements: Applicants should hold a PhD in social science, human geography, Indigenous studies, or a cognate field, or have submitted the PhD and be under examination. The post requires postdoctoral-level research experience, the ability to independently plan and deliver research, strong organisational skills, and knowledge of grief, loss, mental health, or wellbeing. Experience working respectfully with Indigenous understandings of wellbeing, relationality, place, and Country is important. The position also requires extended fieldwork in the UK and South Africa.
