About this position
Osaka University’s Graduate School of Engineering Science is seeking a specially appointed assistant professor at the researcher/postdoctoral-equivalent level for the Fluid Dynamics Group in the Department of Functional Creation.
The successful researcher will contribute to the Research on Transformative Areas (A) project “Creation of Dynamic Materials Science,” specifically Planned Research C02, “Elucidation of Nonlinear Effects in Phonon Fluid Dynamics.” The work will investigate new developments in fluid dynamics, with a primary focus on phonon fluid dynamics.
The project involves theoretical research and numerical simulations, together with education in fluid dynamics. The group will build on expertise in classical fluid dynamics developed in the laboratory while exploring nonlinear effects and fluid-like behavior associated with phonons. Researchers interested in mathematical physics, condensed matter physics, fluid mechanics, and computational modeling may find the project particularly relevant.
The position is located at Osaka University’s Faculty of Engineering Science and Graduate School of Engineering Science in Toyonaka, Osaka, within an established research environment centered on fluid dynamics. Previous background in phonon fluid dynamics is not required, and the group welcomes motivated young researchers.
