About this position
TIES2 COFUND at the University of Turku is inviting applications for seven postdoctoral fellowship positions (title: Senior Researcher) within the Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) in Finland.
The call is open to projects in any discipline within TIAS’s five constituent faculties, with the post text highlighting Law and Sociology as the listed research fields. Fellows will design and carry out their own three-year research project, starting 1 September 2027, and will also complete a secondment of 3 to 12 months in an organisation outside higher education.
This is a strong fit for researchers interested in interdisciplinary, internationally oriented work with an emphasis on academic excellence, impact, and implementation. The programme expects applicants to show engagement in international academic networks, a high-level research profile, and a clear plan for how their project connects to the University of Turku’s strengths and the chosen department.
Funding includes a salary under the university’s teaching and research personnel system, plus mobility and possible family allowances, and additional support for travel, research, training, and innovation-related costs. Fellows may also contribute a small amount of teaching or other academic duties, but the main focus is research.
Eligibility highlights include a completed doctorate by the deadline, the doctorate awarded no more than eight years before the deadline, and compliance with the MSCA mobility rule. Applicants must be resident in Finland during the fellowship.
Deadline: 13 November 2026. Applications must be submitted through the online recruitment system. The post also provides an information session and a contact email for programme questions.
