About this position
Two EMANAIRE doctoral positions are open at the University of Ljubljana, School of Economics and Business, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The full-time doctoral researchers will join the EMANAIRE Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network and participate in its international training, research and secondment programme.
Project 1: Leadership and Work Design for Meaningfulness in the Age of AI. This PhD project examines how artificial intelligence changes tasks, meaning, dignity and professional identity. The research will investigate leadership and work-design practices that help employees maintain agency, purpose and belonging as roles and responsibilities evolve. It will use longitudinal research to study feedback, coordination, job crafting and team routines, with opportunities to develop practical interventions. Supervision will be provided by Matej Černe and Petra Kipfelsberger of BI Norwegian Business School.
Project 2: Human Agency in Distributed, Fragmented, and AI-Mediated Workflows. This project explores work distributed across people, teams, AI copilots and autonomous agents, including across systems, locations and time zones. It will examine implications for professional judgment, team cohesion and accountability, particularly among junior and middle-level employees. The research aims to develop practical principles for task allocation and role design that preserve context, authority and responsible human action. Supervision will be provided by Amadeja L. and Christian Fieseler of BI Norwegian Business School.
