About this position
The University of the Basque Country (EHU) is inviting applications for up to three two-year postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics at the EHU Quantum Center and Department of Physics in Bilbao, Spain.
The research environment includes early-Universe cosmology, observational cosmology and astrophysics, gravitation, and particle physics, including interdisciplinary interfaces among these areas. Positions are expected to start around September 2027 and are funded by the Basque Government.
The approximate salary is €47,000 gross per year, equivalent to approximately €2,500 net per payment over 14 payments, subject to individual tax and personal circumstances. Applicants must hold a PhD in Physics or a closely related field by the start date. Candidates with doctoral degrees awarded outside Spain may require an official declaration of equivalence before formalisation of the contract.
Applications should include a CV with publication list, a research statement describing scientific fit and how the applicant's interests complement the group's work, and three reference letters submitted directly by referees. Scientific fit and collaboration potential are prioritised over publication volume. Apply via AcademicJobsOnline by 13 December 2026. Questions may be sent to [email protected]. Further information about the EHU Quantum Center is available at ehuqc.eus.
