This multidisciplinary graduate program provides a unique opportunity to explore the cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern the physiology and pathology of organ systems.
IMPRS-MOB offers a comprehensive three-year PhD program, including lectures, specialized seminars, methods courses, and retreats. Students benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge research projects, and abundant scientific resources from the Max Planck Institute and its partner universities. Research fields available to candidates include Genetics, Development, Regeneration, Stem Cell Biology, Cancer Research, Cardiopulmonary Research, Physiology, Pharmacy & Pharmacology, Bioinformatics, Chronobiology, Vascular Medicine, and Cell Biology.
The program is taught in English and provides a friendly, international, and multidisciplinary environment. Each PhD student receives guidance and mentorship from an individual Thesis Advisory Committee, ensuring personalized academic support. IMPRS-MOB is committed to excellent career opportunities and working conditions for its students.
Applicants should hold an MSc with a strong background in biological sciences, biochemistry, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline by October 2026.
