About

Andreas Freise is a Professor of Gravitational Wave Physics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on gravitational wave detection, with recent studies including modal mode simulation of near-unstable cavities, angular control noise in Advanced Virgo, and the tuning of resonant doublets in coupled optical cavities. He is also involved in advanced sensing and control techniques for gravitational wave detectors, particularly regarding the Einstein Telescope. Professor Freise's work contributes significantly to the fields of quantum squeezing schemes and enhanced spatial mode decomposition in gravitational wave physics.
