This immersive post-graduate course is designed for
PhD students, postdocs, and early-career researchers
working in
wearables
,
machine learning
,
health data science
, and related biomedical research areas. The programme focuses on real-world validation, time-series machine learning, accelerometer data cleaning, open datasets, self-supervised learning, epidemiological analysis, and the discovery of digital biomarkers.
Teaching includes daily lectures, interactive computer sessions, hands-on practicals, and opportunities for one-to-one interaction with Oxford academics and invited speakers. The course is held at
Jesus College, Oxford
, and includes a certificate of attendance and a digital badge.
Eligibility highlights:
applicants should have at least a bachelors’ degree, be actively engaged in health data research, and ideally be comfortable with basic
Python
and
R
. Participants should bring their own laptops for the practical sessions.
Funding/fees:
this is a fee-paying short course rather than a funded position. Residential fees are £2,250 and include tuition, accommodation, meals, and the social programme. Non-residential fees are £1,650 and include tuition, meals, and the social programme.
