Bronwen Douglas

About

Bronwen Douglas is an Honorary Professor at the Australian National University in Australia. Her research focuses on the intersections of historical geography, indigenous agency, and toponymy, as demonstrated in her recent articles exploring Protestant missionary activities in the Gilbert Islands and Spanish exploration in New Guinea. Professor Douglas’s work critically examines the materiality of cultural encounters and the implications of naming and mapping in Pacific studies.
