Cameron Jones

Cameron Jones is recruiting a PhD student to join the CLIC Lab at Stony Brook University. The lab investigates how people and large language models differ, how people interact with LLMs, and the effects that LLMs may have on human cognition and society. This opportunity is suited to students interested in psychology, cognitive science, human–AI interaction, and the social consequences of artificial intelligence. Research in the lab is positioned at the intersection of human cognition and rapidly developing language-model technologies, examining both comparative questions about people and LLMs and interactional questions about how humans engage with these systems. The PhD student would contribute to a research environment focused on understanding LLM-related changes in cognition and society under the supervision of Cameron Jones.
