PhD in Breast Cancer Brain Metastasis and Cancer Metastasis Research at Precision Oncology Ireland II

Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and Precision Oncology Ireland II are recruiting PhD students for a project on breast cancer brain metastasis within a broader programme on cancer metastasis research . The advertised PhD project will investigate the mechanisms of metastatic progression , therapeutic vulnerabilities , and biomarker development . The wider scholarship programme also includes projects in drug resistance in multiple myeloma, novel treatments for pancreatic ductal carcinoma, epigenetic drugs for neuroblastoma, AI-based image analysis in breast cancer, targeting DNA damage pathways in breast cancer metastases, 3D modelling of bone metastases, and cancers in adolescents and young adults. Relevant academic interests include cancer biology , multiomics , computational biology , translational oncology , molecular oncology, immuno-oncology, digital pathology, AI foundational models, and related quantitative or bioengineering backgrounds. The scholarship programme is described as a set of 8 PhD scholarships offered as co-funded positions supported by Research Ireland and POI2 partners, Trinity Development & Alumni, and RCSI. Funding includes a €25,000/year stipend , EU fees , consumables, and dissemination costs for a 4-year PhD . Eligibility is open to scientific and clinical graduates who meet the PhD entry requirements of Trinity College Dublin or RCSI.
