About

Deirdre Purfield is an Assistant Lecturer at Cork Institute of Technology in Ireland. Her research focuses on the genetic and physiological traits of livestock, particularly in cattle, as evidenced by her recent work on dietary influences and genetic associations with performance traits. Notable publications include studies on enteric methane emissions and the genetic control of temperament traits, contributing to a deeper understanding of animal genetics and breeding practices.
