University College Cork is recruiting two highly motivated Post-Doctoral Researchers for the Nasc Research Centre, working on a technology development project with industry partners Danalto and Qorvo. The project, led at UCC by Dr Harry Nguyen and Prof Dirk Pesch, focuses on agentic AI and digital twin concepts for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) RF sensing, localisation, and vital sign recognition. The successful researchers will join a collaborative team working across artificial intelligence, RF sensing and communications, multimodal UWB RF signal data analysis, and wireless sensing network architecture design and optimisation. The role is based at University College Cork’s campus in Cork, Ireland, within the School of Computer Science & Information Technology and the broader Nasc/CONNECT research environment. This is a 21-month fixed-term, whole-time postdoctoral appointment, with a proposed start date of 1 November 2026. Salary is on the IUA PD1 scale, ranging from €47,273 to €53,925 per annum, and appointment level will depend on experience and qualifications. The post is part of a large research ecosystem at UCC with links to CONNECT, Insight, Lero, and CONFIRM, and offers the opportunity to work in an inclusive, industry-connected research setting. Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related discipline, and should demonstrate a strong record of original research publications. Experience in artificial intelligence, deep learning, or decision support applied to RF sensing, wireless communications, and signal processing is required, together with strong multimodal data analysis ability. Teamwork, project management, and experience in multidisciplinary environments are valuable assets. Applications must be submitted online through the University College Cork vacancy portal. The deadline is 12 noon (Irish local time) on Friday, 25 September 2026. Informal enquiries can be made to Dr Harry Nguyen ([email protected]) or Prof Dirk Pesch ([email protected]). Garda vetting and/or international police clearance may form part of the selection process.
