PhD Position in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, and Polymer Science at the University of Melbourne and RMIT University

A PhD position is available in an interdisciplinary project spanning Chemical Engineering , Materials Science and Engineering , Surface Engineering , Polymer Science , Biomaterials , Nanomaterials , and Coatings and interfaces . The project is supervised by Professor Benu Adhikari and Professor Elena Ivanova at RMIT University , together with Mehran Ghasemlou at the University of Melbourne . The research is experimental and is expected to suit candidates with strong laboratory skills, a solid understanding of materials characterisation, and an interest in multidisciplinary research. Ideal applicants should have a strong academic record, relevant research experience, good scientific writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Candidates with peer-reviewed publications will be more competitive. Experience in materials preparation, surface characterisation, polymer processing, spectroscopy, microscopy, or related laboratory techniques is strongly encouraged.
