PhD Position in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, and Polymer Science at the University of Melbourne and RMIT University University of Melbourne in Canada

A PhD position is available in an interdisciplinary project spanning Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Surface Engineering, Polymer Science, Biomaterials, Nanomaterials, and Coatings and interfaces.

The project is supervised by Professor Benu Adhikari and Professor Elena Ivanova at RMIT University, together with Mehran Ghasemlou at the University of Melbourne. The research is experimental and is expected to suit candidates with strong laboratory skills, a solid understanding of materials characterisation, and an interest in multidisciplinary research.

Ideal applicants should have a strong academic record, relevant research experience, good scientific writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Candidates with peer-reviewed publications will be more competitive. Experience in materials preparation, surface characterisation, polymer processing, spectroscopy, microscopy, or related laboratory techniques is strongly encouraged.
