Eriks Rozners

A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the laboratory of Professor Eriks Rozners at Binghamton University for a project titled Chemical Approaches to Control the Function of Regulatory RNAs . The research is highly interdisciplinary and combines synthetic organic chemistry , nucleic acid chemistry , biophysics , biochemistry , and RNA biology . The project aims to test whether backbone-modified nucleic acid analogues can modulate the structure and function of biologically relevant RNAs in live cells. Key responsibilities include developing synthetic methods for backbone-modified RNA and peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) , synthesizing small interfering RNAs with backbone modifications using automated RNA synthesis, and evaluating biophysical, biological, and RNA interference activity. Additional work may involve CRISPR RNAs and triplex-forming PNAs, with collaboration alongside structural biochemists. This is a postdoctoral opening starting November 1, 2026 . The initial appointment is for one year and may be renewed for up to two additional years.
