Postdoctoral Fellow in Hydrological Ecosystem Services of Wetlands at Stockholm University

Stockholm University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow in hydrological ecosystem services of wetlands for the project DOWES: Disclosing the Overlooked Wetlandscape Ecosystem Services , funded by Water4All . The postdoc will work mainly on the Magdalena floodplains in Colombia , focusing on hydrology , remote sensing , wetlandscapes , and ecosystem services . The research includes quantifying hydrological ecosystem services such as regulation, supply, and suppression of peak flows , and may also examine impacts on ecosystem services from gold in the river stream. The position is based in the Department of Physical Geography at Stockholm University, within a research environment covering landscape, environment and geomatics, climate science, geomorphology, glaciology, water, permafrost, and environmental systems. Eligibility: applicants must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent relevant doctoral degree from another country by the time the employment decision is made. A recent PhD is advantageous, and strong research expertise in hydrology, ecosystem services, and remote sensing is preferred. Excellent English and strong written/oral presentation skills are required. Funding and duration: this is a full-time postdoctoral employment for 2 years minimum and 3 years maximum , with possible extension under special circumstances. Salary is individually set.
