Stockholm University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow in hydrological ecosystem services of wetlands for the project DOWES: Disclosing the Overlooked Wetlandscape Ecosystem Services, funded by Water4All.

The postdoc will work mainly on the Magdalena floodplains in Colombia, focusing on hydrology, remote sensing, wetlandscapes, and ecosystem services. The research includes quantifying hydrological ecosystem services such as regulation, supply, and suppression of peak flows, and may also examine impacts on ecosystem services from gold in the river stream.

The position is based in the Department of Physical Geography at Stockholm University, within a research environment covering landscape, environment and geomatics, climate science, geomorphology, glaciology, water, permafrost, and environmental systems.

Eligibility: applicants must hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent relevant doctoral degree from another country by the time the employment decision is made. A recent PhD is advantageous, and strong research expertise in hydrology, ecosystem services, and remote sensing is preferred. Excellent English and strong written/oral presentation skills are required.

Funding and duration: this is a full-time postdoctoral employment for 2 years minimum and 3 years maximum, with possible extension under special circumstances. Salary is individually set.
