Constructor University in Bremen, Germany is advertising a fully funded PhD position in Robust Inference for Sensing Systems with Prof. Dr. Haoqing Li in Electrical and Computer Engineering. The project focuses on challenging inference problems in sensing environments where standard methods may fail. Research directions include Bayesian filtering , deep learning , statistical machine learning , and robust statistics . Possible application areas include GNSS signal processing (interference detection and mitigation, model mismatch analysis and mitigation), image processing for spaceborne remote sensing (cloud and shadow mitigation), and other sensing systems such as wearables . Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Geomatics, or a closely related field. A strong background in signal processing, estimation, probability, or applied mathematics is expected. Experience with GNSS, Bayesian filtering, robust statistics, machine learning, or remote sensing is an advantage. Good programming skills in MATLAB and Python are desirable.
