The fellowship supports research at a Japanese host institution and is intended for international collaboration and advanced research experience. Funding includes a monthly allowance of JPY 220,000 , an arrival fund of JPY 120,000 , round-trip economy airfare, and overseas travel insurance. The host professor is expected to help arrange accommodation for the selected fellow. Eligibility highlights : applicants must be non-Japanese nationals, hold a PhD, be 45 years old or younger, have a full-time job in their home country and plan to return after the fellowship, have no long-term stay history in Japan, obtain acceptance from a host institution in Japan before applying, and have sufficient English or Japanese ability.
